This degree will allow you to focus more closely on a specific area of nursing. You will gain the skills and advanced training you need to take on a specialized role, such as a nurse practitioner, or NP. You will be able to offer many of the same health care services that doctors do. There are four types of advanced practice areas:
Nurse practitioner (NP)
Certified nurse anesthetist (CRNA)
Clinical nurse specialist (CNS)
Certified nurse midwife (CNM)
