Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS/BSN)

If you intend to become an RN (Registered Nurse), you will need to obtain a BSN, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing. RNs with a BSN have more responsibility, higher salaries and better supervisory opportunities than those who only have an ADA. Getting your BSN takes up to four years, like any other BA program. An RN can work in a doctor’s office, hospital, operating room, intensive care unit, or clinic. In addition to patient care, RNs evaluate patient symptoms, dress wounds, assist doctors during surgery, review patient treatment plans, supervise other nurses, and educate patients about self-care.
